今週の漢字: 夏
Summer:
The rainy season has already ended for Aichi. I heard this year ended very early, which is fine with me. I didn’t think the rainy season was as bad as I thought it would be, but I also heard that this year was unusual. It didn’t rain so much. I wonder what next year’s rainy season will bring.
Summer is in full force here, and my sisters arrived right on time to experience the start of it. Whereas I don’t mind the heat, my sisters can’t stand it. They feel tortured in anything over like 65°F, which means even room temperature. Okay, that’s not true. They can’t stand anything over freezing.
Anyway, we decided sort of on a whim to buy yukatas for ourselves. It was interesting as I have no clue about what I’m supposed to buy. I was confused how to figure out what size my sisters and I needed to choose, and as I was watching inconspicuously (I hope it wasn’t obvious otherwise I’d be seen as a pervert), I realized that we would have to fold the yukata to the appropriate length. Right, so that’s done. Now, what about the obi? My sisters bought the preset ones. So what about the men’s? I couldn’t figure out where it was until I noticed some people looking at a section across from the men’s yukatas. Lo and behold, there it was! Now that my sisters and I are back in my apartment, I researched on yukatas. We are missing a few items, so we’ll have to get them before we try them on.
We will be going to Osaka next weekend, so my post will be a bit late. However, stay tuned some time next week for another update!

Pendant cette année, j’avais voulu acheter un yukata. Je suis très content que je l’ai acheté aujourd’hui. Je pense que je mettrai des photos avec nos yukatas la semaine prochaine. Je désire porter mon yukata en japon. C’est le fin cette fois parce que mes soeurs sont ici.

"During this year, I wanted to buy a yukata. I am very pleased that I bought it today. I think I'll put pictures with our yukatas next week. I want to wear my yukata in Japan. This is the end this time because my sisters are here."
Interesting...the whole time i'm trying to figure out what a "yukata" might be...but with mention of a an "obi" type sash...i'm guessing it's a robe of some sort.
